Volunteers for Melanoma Awareness are very active in educating high school students about melanoma. It is our goal to talk to 3,000 students in health classes around the Twin Cities in the 2006/2007 school term. In the presentation, students hear facts, personal stories and see a slideshow explaining detection and prevention of this cancer.

At this time, we are contacting the teachers to set up dates and times to visit their classrooms for the 2007/2008 year.

Teacher and students' reactions and comments are telling us that this is an extremely affective and useful teaching tool. Some of the teachers' comments have been: "Great information, good delivery, did a wonderful job of keeping some difficult classes attention."

And some of the students' comments have been: "Scary", "Good Information", "Interesting, I didn't know that", and "Can they come back?"
