Volunteer Opportunities

Melanoma Awareness is growing and changing quickly. Many opportunities listed below are new positions that will allow our group to reach more people. Please consider one of these volunteer opportunities. Please send us an email if you are interested in helping out. Thanks!

Financial Secretary / Treasurer (Board Member)
Our Secretary is resigning and we are in need of someone to take over our financial books and records. If you have experience with finances, please consider helping us out.

Event / Activity Coordinator
Do you love to plan? We are in need of someone to search for and organize the melanoma events for our group.

Public Relations Liaison
This position will be responsible for keeping in contact with the public by sending sympathy cards and answering emails.

Fundraising Coordinator
Search for and arrange fundraising activities for the group.

Branch Office Coordinator / Liaison
This position will be the coordinator for new branch offices. Many people are requesting information on how they can become a branch of Melanoma Awareness. Currently we do not have the ability to move forward with this because of time.

Newsletter Editor
Do you like to write? This person(s) would be responsible for creating our quarterly newsletter in Microsoft Word.

Teens with Melanoma
Are you a teen who has melanoma and would be willing to let us tell your story? We would love to hear your story, post some pictures, and add your information to our presentation. If you are interested, please contact us!


School Speakers
Spread the word to teenagers about melanoma by going into their classes with a powerful presentation. Training is provided.

Event Volunteers
MA will be participating in community and annual events by hosting a booth. Events will include fairs, conferences, and community festivals. Volunteers will be needed to help man the booth. A calendar of events will be posted on Hands On Volunteering, Expos and Parades, and on the Sports Shows.
