About Us

Melanoma Awareness is a Minnesota non-profit corporation and a 501(c)(3) public charity established in 2005 in honor of Keith Kamman, a talented architect and dedicated husband, father, son and friend, who passed away from melanoma at the age of 33.

Here's Keith's story

Melanoma Awareness' mission is: To raise public awareness about melanoma, To provide moral support as well as financial support to melanoma victims and their families; and To support and promote melanoma research.

Why is Black the Color for Melanoma?

Melanoma means "black tumor".

Black is the color of the warrior's mood when going into battle and the melanoma patient is in a battle for his/her life.

Black is the color of our rage when we consider the lack of progress and lack of research funding we see after 25 years of the so-called "War On Cancer".
